WHAT TO EXPECT
Vacations should feel simple.
They should be filled with mountain views, fresh air, meaningful experiences, and the freedom to spend your time however you choose. Too often, travel becomes stressful before it even begins—with endless planning, crowded attractions, and the pressure to see and do everything.
At Long View, we've created something different.
Perched high above Bryson City in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, our Scandinavian-inspired guesthouse offers breathtaking views, thoughtfully designed accommodations, and genuine mountain hospitality. Whether you're planning a weekend of adventure or simply want to relax and enjoy the scenery, we're here to help make your stay effortless.
Need a recommendation for a favorite local restaurant? Looking for the best waterfall hike, train excursion, or rafting trip? We're happy to share our local knowledge and help point you in the right direction.
Long View isn't a traditional resort. It's a boutique mountain retreat designed for guests who appreciate comfort, authenticity, and a slower pace. Come settle in, explore when you want to, and discover why so many guests arrive planning to stay—and leave wishing they had booked one more night.

THE LODGE
The Lodge is the gathering place at Long View.
It's where mornings begin with coffee, breakfast, and mountain views that seem to stretch forever. It's where guests return after a day of hiking, rafting, train rides, or exploring Bryson City. And it's where evenings often end around the fire tables, sharing stories beneath the stars.
Designed with Scandinavian simplicity and comfort in mind, the Lodge offers inviting common spaces, sweeping observation decks, and a relaxed atmosphere that encourages you to slow down and enjoy the mountains.
When you're ready to turn in, our seven suites provide a comfortable retreat inspired by the natural beauty and history of the Great Smoky Mountains.

WHY HOSPITALITY MATTERS...
"I traveled in the Scandinavian countries one summer, and I was pleasantly surprised to find each lodge host I encountered greeting me warmly, always starting off with what felt like casual conversation about what I wanted to see and do in an area I knew literally nothing about. It put me at ease of course, but it wasn't long before I figured out that whatever I mentioned, they made happen. I realized right away that we've been doing it wrong in our country. Private homes are wonderful, but nothing compares to meeting a new friend who knows the area and can make everything about your vacation magical. So, I came home and started building a place where what I felt in Sweden can be experienced here in the North Carolina Mountains."

Located in the National Rainforest just like our yurt village Sky Ridge Yurts, we do experience some rain, but don’t let that discourage you from booking your stay. As a reminder, the sun always returns, and the lush, vibrant surroundings make every moment special. Embrace the natural beauty and enjoy your time with us—rain or shine! View our Policy.
